Vernon’s Rockville Bank has gone outside its ranks and chosen Wells Fargo banker William H. W. “Bill” Crawford as its next chief executive officer.
Crawford officially is coming aboard as a senior vice president but will replace William J. McGurk when he formally cedes the reins of the bank and its parent, Rockville Financial Corp., on April 26.
Crawford currently is regional vice president for Wells Fargo’s Eastern Virginia commercial banking operations, which had previously been Wachovia Bank.
Rockville Bank has some 21 branches and $1.6 billion in assets.
