Rockville Bank’s Vernon parent promoted former federal bank examiner Eric R. Newell to executive vice president and head of treasury and corporate strategy.
Newell had been a senior vice president and treasury director for Rockville Financial Corp.
The New Haven resident joined the bank in May 2011 as vice president, treasury officer before being promoted to senior veep in 2012.
He previously was a research analyst for AllianceBernstein L.P. in New York. He also worked for Fitch Ratings in New York and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

Newell has BS and BA degrees in finance and marketing from Northeastern University’s School of Business Administration.
