Robinson+Cole rebrands with new logo, look

Hartford law firm Robinson+Cole is showing off a new look and logo as part of a company rebranding effort.

Among the changes to the firm’s logo are brighter, bolder colors and the replacement of the ampersand in its name with a plus sign.

According to the firm, which employs 200 lawyers in nine offices including its Hartford base at 280 Trumbull St., the plus sign is a symbol of connection to “exemplify the power of the Robinson+Cole community to provide solutions to its clients by joining with others, cultivating deep relationships with industry, business, community, and law leaders to create more than it could do alone.”

Another rebranding element is the use of hexagons, representing strength, connection, and innovation, the firm said.

Robinson+Cole collaborated with New York brand consulting firm Monaco Lange on the new logo and look. They also launched a new website with a thought leadership page where visitors can scan recent newsletters and access the firm’s four blogs.

Robinson+Cole joins a litany of Connecticut companies that have decided to change their look in the past few years, which could be a signal businesses are more bullish about the economy. Investments in marketing often take a back seat during recessions, but companies have been more willing lately to invest in their branding efforts. Connecticut firms that have changed their look or brand recently include Voya Financial (formerly ING U.S), Aetna, Stanly Black & Decker, MetroHartford Alliance, Connecticut Innovations, and Mintz + Hoke to name a few.
