Rizzuto’s Wood-Fired Kitchen & Bar, with a location in West Hartford’s Blue Back Square, will open early next month its fourth casual Italian eatery in Greenwich.
Restaurateur Bill Rizzuto said he chose space at 1980 West Main St. that was formerly Route 22 American Restaurant and Bar, for his 160-seat bar-dining room.
Rizzuto says he knows the neighborhood from his former days as general manager of the Greenwich Hyatt Hotel.
Rizzutto’s signature dish is its thin-crust Neapolitan oven pizza.
The space has undergone renovations that include installation of a state-of-the-art pizza oven, stone and tie work, and new woodwork and flooring, Bill Rizzuto said.
Renovation and opening costs weren’t disclosed.
Rizzuto’s other two locations are in Bethel and Westport. The Blue Back Square location opened in April 2008.
