In the role, Aldi will be responsible for originating and structuring commercial real estate and construction loans across multiple asset types, the bank said.
Aldi has more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate lending and underwriting. Most recently, he was a vice president and commercial real estate loan officer at Liberty Bank, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He previously worked in commercial real estate brokerage and multifamily mortgage underwriting.
Aldi holds a master’s degree in real estate finance and investment from New York University and a bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College.
Washington Trust, headquartered in Westerly, Rhode Island, is a publicly traded bank with $6.6 billion in assets that provides commercial, mortgage, retail and wealth management services, with offices in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
In Connecticut, the bank operates a full-service branch in Mystic, commercial lending operations in New Haven and a mortgage office in Glastonbury, along with an ATM network.
Washington Trust held $101.1 million in deposits in Connecticut as of June 30, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
