RezZiliant sells Hartford, Waterbury data centers

Waterbury software and tech company RezZiliant Inc.’s hosting division and its two data centers in Waterbury and Harford have been acquired by Access Northeast, a Marlborough, Mass., data center  operator and managed services provider, the companies announced Wednesday.

With the acquisition, Access Northeast now leases and operates four data centers throughout New England, totaling more than 40,000 square feet. Deal price was not disclosed.

“Our Massachusetts enterprise customers will have access to geographically diverse facilities, allowing them to house redundant systems for ease of management across a single Access Northeast network.” said Access Northeast CEO Rob Stephenson.

RezZiliant President and CEO Mark Golino said the deal lets his company focus on its rapidly growing healthcare software offering for hospitals and medical providers.

Golino signed a long-term contract to stay with Access as both a consultant and a customer of Access Northeast.

Access will retain the majority of RezZiliant hosting personnel, with other technical resources remaining at the RezZiliant software division, according to a statement

Access has financial backing from Bay Capital Advisors of Providence and Spring Capital Partners of Baltimore, who in late 2009 put together $5.7 million in growth capital financing.
