A development team has gained approval to repurpose an existing Enfield gas station and car wash.
Applicant and tenant Shiraz Choudhary of Rocky Hill is looking to revitalize an existing gas station and car wash at 600 Enfield St., on property owned by Troiano Realty Corp. of Enfield.
Plans call for demolishing the existing 643-square-foot convenience store and 1,800-square-foot row of self-serve car wash bays.
To be added will be a new 2,770-square-foot convenience store. The four existing gas pumps will be replaced and two more added.
The existing car wash will remain in use and remodeled during a later phase of the project, according to the application.
The development team also includes civil engineering, landscaping and surveying by F.A. Hesketh & Associates Inc., and architect Greg Neffinger.
