Retired Superior Court Judge Salvatore C. Agati will be joining the law firm Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP as a partner this summer.
Agati, a Watertown resident, will be part of the firm’s litigation practice as a member of its group focused on alternative dispute resolution (ADR). He will serve as a private mediator and arbitrator statewide starting in September, according to an announcement.
Agati will conduct in-person mediation and arbitration sessions at the firm’s New Haven, Waterbury and Stamford offices, and he will also be available to meet with parties remotely.
Managing Partner Richard L. Street said the firm is fortunate to have Agati join the firm.
“As one of the most requested judicial mediators in Connecticut, Judge Agati brings with him a depth of knowledge and experience in dispute resolution that will further strengthen Carmody’s leading ADR capabilities,” Street said, in an announcement.
Agati became a Superior Court judge in 2000, and he primarily handled cases assigned to the civil and complex litigation dockets.
“It has been an honor to serve as a Connecticut Superior Court judge for the past 20 years, and I look forward to this next chapter in my legal career in assisting parties to reach resolution of their disputes,” Agati said.
