Retailers, schools, others are CT ‘Summer Savers’

Combined, they saved more than 381,354 kilowatt hours of electricity, which lowered peak electricity demand by 618 kilowatts and carbon-dioxide emission by 175 tons, DEEP said.

Each of the 11 used incentives offered through the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund’s small business and commercial and industrial programs, which are run through Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating.

Southington High School took the top honor by savings 421 kilowatts of energy. Meanwhile, Ethan Allen in Danbury took second place with 28 kilowatts saved.
