Retail, mixed-use properties in Stamford sell for $5.39M

A retail building and a mixed-use retail-apartment property in Stamford have sold for a combined $5.39 million, according to city property records.

East Clark Properties LLC, controlled by Ming-Dan Zheng, purchased the one-story retail building at 789 E. Main St. for $1.26 million and the three-story mixed-use building at 791 E. Main St. for $4.13 million. Zheng did not respond to a request for comment.

The 2,738-square-foot building at 789 E. Main St. contains four retail spaces. The 14,206-square-foot property at 791 E. Main St. includes ground-floor retail and eight apartments above.

The sellers were Post Road II LLC and Post Road LLC, both controlled by Darien-based Frank Steinegger, according to property records. Steinegger purchased the properties in 2003 and 2002, respectively.

The 789 E. Main St. property, built in 2005 on a 0.2-acre parcel, is appraised at $1.18 million and assessed at $823,120. The 791 E. Main St. building, constructed in 2002 on a similarly sized lot, is appraised at $3.77 million and assessed at $2.64 million.
