Restaurateur buys Ridgefield steakhouse for $3.05M, changes name

A restaurateur from New York has bought an Italian steakhouse in Ridgefield for $3.05 million, according to the town clerk’s office, and given it a new name.

Triple L LLC, controlled by Rexhep Krasniqi, of Monroe, New York, bought the 1.93-acre property, at 20 West Lane, on Nov. 6. The property was home to The Benjamin, an 8,000-square-foot, two-story Italian steakhouse and 4,110-square-foot, one-story event building, since 2023.

Krasniqi, who has owned and managed steakhouses in the New York area, has changed the name to R House, a 200-seat restaurant with four dining rooms that offers prime-aged steaks, pork, chicken, seafood and other fare. The new restaurant, which has an in-house butcher among its roughly 50 employees, opened Tuesday.

“We are going to prime-age the steaks in-house,” Krasniqi told the Hartford Business Journal. “After COVID, I was looking to purchase a small restaurant in a small town.”

Krasniqi said he plans to move to Ridgefield with his family soon.

The seller of the property was Lumber Property Management Group LLC. The company is controlled by Dave Studwell, Willard Lawless and Robert Moss Jr., all of Norwalk; Kathryn and Craig Ferrero, both of Weston; Shaun Cain, of New Canaan; John Forlivio, of Darien; and Michael Rowe, of Hollywood, Florida.
