Yale Ventures, the university’s new innovation arm, touted 10 new startups and $58 million in new venture financing for Yale-linked companies in 2022 in a fiscal-year-in-review announcement.
Released in the form of an infographic, the report also highlighted that Yale-linked startups had gone public in IPOs in five of the last five years, the most recent being IsoPlexis’ $111 million debut in October 2021.

In the past seven years, 70 new ventures tied to Yale have raised $5.4 billion in capital, according to the report. In the past year, venture-capital-backed startups linked to the university doubled from five to more than 10.
Researchers at the university obtained 239 patents for discoveries in 2022, 62 in the U.S. and 177 internationally.
The university unified its entrepreneurial efforts into Yale Ventures earlier this year and named former state COO Josh Geballe as its head.
