Connecticut is the top state for recycling business in the U.S., according to a report by a San Francisco small business intelligence firm.
California-based SizeUp ranked the fifty U.S. states for recycling businesses based on the ones that generate the most revenue based on population size. The average per capita revenue for Connecticut recycling centers is $1,500-$1,600.
“We were interested to see that states in the Northeastern U.S. have the most successful recycling centers,” said Anatalio Ubalde, CEO of SizeUp, in the report.
Based on per capita revenues, Connecticut is the No. 1 state for recycling centers, followed by New Jersey, Vermont, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas, Oregon, Kentucky, and Washington state.
