Reno Machine buys Canton engineering firm

Newington precision manufacturer Reno Machine Co. has acquired a small engineering services firm in Canton, adding about 15 new engineers and clinicians to its ranks.

Reno Machine acquired Design Company Inc. or DECO, an engineering services provider located in the Collinsville section that serves the aerospace, commercial, industrial and military industries.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but DECO will maintain its name and customer base.

Mark Occhialini, president of Reno Machine, which produces parts for the aerospace, industrial gas turbine, nuclear, medical and military industries, said the deal will allow his company to offer customers a one-stop shop for the design and manufacturing of products.

“It allows us to offer a full-service solution, from concept development right through to design, documentation, and manufacturing,” Occhialini said. “A lot of work we do are for the major companies and increasingly they are looking for a firm to design and build parts. This deal allows us to do that.”
