Re/Max: CT May home sales down 12.3 percent

Home sales across Connecticut fell 12.3 percent in May while the median sales price fell 3.5 percent, according to Re/Max of New England.

Using data from its own offices combined with data from the Multiple Listing Service, Re/Max found that Connecticut transactions fell from 3,790 in May 2013 to 3,322 last month.

The median sale price fell from $285,000 to $275,000. Pending sales were up more than a third, to 5,511.

Across New England, sales volume fell 8.4 percent, the fifth consecutive month of year-over-year declines. Re/Max said it was still awaiting data from Maine.
