Newington aerospace manufacturer Polamer Precision will install a 1 megawatt solar system at its new 150,000-square-foot New Britain facility, where it will relocate in March.
Polamer won a 15-year contract from Connecticut Light & Power to sell the electricity from the solar system under the state’s competitive Zero-emissions Renewable Energy Credit program.
The solar system will include 3,000 solar, taking up four acres of the New Britain facilities roof surface.
The company’s new facility will include other green building elements, including an electric car charging station, efficient lighting, heating, and cooling, and the latest technology for compressed air generation.
