Red Wolf Broadcasting Corp. on Thursday completed its purchase of five Connecticut radio stations that includes Hartford’s 102.9 “The Whale,” officials said.
Red Wolf of Ledyard announced in January that it agreed to acquire the assets from Westport-based Connoisseur Media. The deal adds to Red Wolf’s existing holdings, which include 106.5 WBMW and other stations. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The broadcasting group took over operations in January for WDRC-AM and FM in Hartford, WSNG in Torrington, WMMW in Meriden and MOD 102.3 in New Haven.
Red Wolf, owned by Connecticut broadcaster John Fuller, said there is no plan for programming changes other than MOD 102.3 becoming a simulcast of Bomba 102.3
Connoisseur currently owns and operates 38 radio stations and digital brands in 11 markets.
The Laurel reported Thursday that WDRC morning co-host Dan Lovallo has announced he is leaving the station because he was unable to reach a contract agreement with the new owners.
