People’s United Bank announced Wednesday that Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester will serve as the bank’s Massachusetts marketing spokesperson.
The lefthander’s first appearance as the face of the Bridgeport-based bank will be on Jan. 24 when he participates in grand opening events for the bank’s two new Boston offices at Prudential Center and at 45 Milk Street, in the heart of Boston’s Financial District.
Terms of the deal were not released.
“Peoples’ United Bank is pleased to forge a relationship with one of baseball’s premier pitchers,” said Timothy P. Crimmins, the president for People’s United Bank in Massachusetts. “Jon’s fine reputation and excellent interpersonal skills have made him a role model for many both on and off the field. People’s United has built its brand on exceeding customer expectations, and so we find Jon a perfect match as we welcome him to our winning team!”
