California information management provider Access said it has acquired a Massachusetts competitor, which it has relocated to its existing Bloomfield storage facility.
Access, which is privately held, said it acquired Springfield-based Vital Records Management at the end of April. The company is relocating Vital’s customer inventory to its Woodland Avenue storage facility in Bloomfield.
Access Vice President Kent Rodgers, who is based in Massachusetts, said Thursday that Access has 25,000 square feet in the 60,000-square-foot Bloomfield facility, which means it has room for future expansion.
The facility specializes in the storage and management of legal, insurance, and medical records.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Rodgers said he could also not disclose how many customers Access had acquired in the deal.
Access, which bills itself as the largest privately held records and information management provider in the country, has bought 66 companies since its founding in 2004.
Rodgers said the company’s niche is storage for small and medium-sized businesses.Â
