Quinnipiac University has appointed a former television network news producer as dean of its School of Communications, The Associated Press reports.
Lee Kamlet of Pelham, N.Y., starts in his new position April 4 at the university in Hamden. He replaces interim dean Michele Moore, who has held the spot since former dean David Donnelly left in autumn 2009.
Kamlet is the former head writer for ABC News’ World News, and previously was a producer for the network’s Primetime Live show and various news specials. He also was a producer for Dateline NBC, where he won three Emmy Awards.
Kamlet’s appointment was announced Wednesday.
He called it a tremendous opportunity to share his energy and excitement with students and faculty, saying they have a common vision about the communications field and its future.
