Three Quinnipiac University professors will discuss the long-term economic, biological and social impacts of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill in a panel discussion from 3-4:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Clarice Buckman Theatre at the university’s Mount Carmel campus.
An April 20 explosion aboard the Deepwater Horizon offshore drilling rig killed 11 men and sent hundreds of millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico.
The Quinnipiac speakers include Christopher Ball, associate professor of economics; Lisa Kaplan, associate professor of biology; and Melissa Weiner, assistant professor of sociology. This event is part of the university’s Scholarship Across the Disciplines series.
