The U.S. State Department has selected Quinnipiac Prof. Christopher Ball as honorary consul of Hungary for the state of Connecticut, the Hamden school announced.
Ball, who directs the school’s Central European Institute, will be inaugurated in a Sept. 19 ceremony at the law school, which will be attended by Gyorgy Szapary, Hungarian ambassador to the United States.
With the new title, Ball will be responsible for supporting Hungarians in the United States and in Connecticut. He will help facilitate political and business collaborations between the two countries, and introduce Hungarian culture to Americans.
