Hamden’s Quinnipiac Bank & Trust Co. said its shareholders have approved its acquisition by Bankwell Bank’s New Canaan parent company.
The deal, which expands Bankwell Financial Group’s footprint beyond Fairfield County, was first announced in April and approved by regulators last week.
The cash-stock transaction is expected to close Oct. 1.
