Quassy Amusement ParkĀ in Middlebury has invested in an overhaul of its historic pavilion in preparation for the opening of its 116th season this year.
The Fireside Pavilion, which was originally built in 1937, has undergone a full remodel, with a new space for events and shows, as well as new restrooms, roofing, electrical, lights, skylights and air vents. The park has spent $200,000 in improvements including the pavilion, officials said.Ā
Upwards of 200,000 guests visit Quassy each year, and more than 25% of them come as a group, many using the pavilion, park ownership said.
The pavilion can accommodate groups of 2,000 for field trips, reunions, corporate events, birthday parties, prom parties and weddings. It was once a roller rink, and Quassy owners said they are preserving the existing exterior structure as part of the parkās preservation efforts.Ā
Despite the upgrades and other investments in regular park repairs and maintenance, ticket prices are not increasing for the 2024 season, officials said.
The amusement park is open on weekends starting in April, and the water park opens on select dates as of May 25, with both parks open daily starting June 9.
