QU receives $191K to train science teachers

Quinnipiac University said the state has awarded it a $191,068 grant to train Connecticut public school science teachers in newly adopted curriculum standards.

The Office of Higher Education funds will provide professional development to science teachers, mentors and administrators from 10 Connecticut districts, including the Capitol Region Education Council, Wallingford and Meriden, QU said.

The training will focus on Next Generation Science Standards, which the state adopted in November.
