William C. Weldon, chairman of the Quinnipiac University board of trustees and retired chairman and CEO of Johnson & Johnson, was inducted into the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans at the 72nd Horatio Alger Award Induction Ceremonies held April 4-6 in Washington, D.C.
The Horatio Alger Association is a nonprofit educational organization that honors the achievements of outstanding individuals and encourages young people to pursue their dreams through higher education.
A 1971 graduate of Quinnipiac, Weldon joins 12 other exceptional business, civic and cultural leaders from across North America in receiving the honor for 2019.

Stephen Hennebry, AIA, NCARB of Monroe has joined the Bridgeport architecture and interior-design firm Antinozzi Associates. Hennebry previous worked with the New Haven firm of Paul Bailey Architect, and has prior experience in Fairfield County working on residential and commercial projects for J.A. Jamieson Architects in Weston. He earned his architecture degree from Syracuse University.

Stephen Allegretto of Seymour has been promoted to associate vice president for finance/controller at Quinnipiac University. In that role he will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the university’s finances, including accounting, tax, financial compliance and reporting, treasury, fixed assets, internal controls, internal and external audits and bursar services. Previously Allegretto, who joined Quinnipiac in 2013, was director of financial compliance and reporting. He has an MBA from Quinnipiac and bachelor’s degrees in accounting and information systems from Fairfield University.

The S/L/A/M Collaborative (SLAM) has named Richard A. Sears, AIA, NCARB, project manager in the firm’s Health Care Studio. Sears, who has experience in the design of surgical, pediatric, acute care and ambulatory health-care projects, previously was a senior project manager for Baystate Health, a 1,000-bed system in western Massachusetts. Sears holds a bachelor of architecture degree from Syracuse University’s School of Architecture.
