Q3 GDP revised upward

The economy grew at a faster pace in the third quarter than previously thought, the U.S.Bureau of Economic Analysis announced.

Third-quarter GDP grew at an annual rate of 4.1 percent, the BEA said. That was revised upwards from its previous estimate of 3.6 percent. The revision was based on more complete data that showed higher personal consumption expenditures and nonresidential fixed investment.

GDP grew 2.5 percent in the second quarter.
