A new poll from Quinnipiac University released Wednesday morning showed the race between Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and Republican challenger Tom Foley remains tied with the election just six days away.
Malloy and Foley each have 43 percent of likely voters, according to the Q Poll — which a week ago had Malloy with a razor-thin lead of 43-42, and independent candidate Joe Visconti at 9 percent, which has now fallen to 7 percent.

The two leading candidates continue to draw wide support based on gender — Malloy from women and Foley from men.
Foley’s favorability rating also improved to an even split between favorable and unfavorable, while Malloy’s remains negative by a 52-41 margin.
The Q Poll was conducted between Oct. 22 and Oct. 27. It polled 838 likely voters, with a margin of error of +/- 3.4 percent.
