PW Power Systems sees successful sub-Saharan operation

Glastonbury-based PW Power Systems Inc. has announced the successful commercial operation of three Mobilepac gas turbine generator packages in sub-Saharan Africa.

PW Power Systems Inc. is a group company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. The three Mobilepac units are located in Conakry, Guinea, and are operated by Miami Capital Holding Corporation’s subsidiary, K-Energie.

PW Power Systems also has units operating in Togo and Benin to provide energy to the region. “Sub-Saharan Africa is a focus market where we are pursuing numerous projects in those countries that have the greatest need,” said Charles Levey, senior vice president of sales and marketing.

The company is supporting the Power Africa initiative. It works with government leaders and private partners to bring reliable power to millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Mobilepac gas turbine package uses Swiftpac gas turbine package technology. It is designed to provide quick, reliable power. Benefits include its environmental compatibility, dual fuel/dual frequency, remote operability and many others.
