Groton’s Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has filed to merge with tiny Quiet Corner Community Credit Union Inc. in Putnam.
No financial terms were disclosed Wednesday for the combination which must be cleared with federal credit union regulators for Charter Oak, and the state banking department for state-chartered Quiet Corner, a Charter Oak spokesman said.
The merger would give Charter Oak Federal a 13th branch and deepen its Windham County presence, officials said.
Opened in 1955, Quiet Corner is at 107 Providence St., and has $1.5 million in assets and 611 members.
Charter Oak has $764 million in assets and 65,000 members.
