The philanthropic arm of Prudential Financial increased its charitable giving in 2008 to support education, economic development, arts and culture throughout Greater Hartford.
Among area grants from the Prudential Foundation: $150,000 to the Hartford Education Foundation to establish a local education fund to engage the community in school reform; $25,000 to Artists Collective Inc. for year-round after-school programs; and $75,000 to The South Arsenal Neighborhood Development Corp. for affordable housing and job training.
Prudential also is the marquee sponsor of the Greater Hartford Arts Council’s free Monday Night Jazz Series.
