A plan to construct a five-story, 74-unit apartment building on a vacant lot in Bridgeport has been given the green light by the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission.
2068 Main LLC, which is controlled by Yosef Erlich of New York City, plans to build the multifamily housing on a 0.3-acre parcel at 439 E. Main St., according to an application filed with the city.
Erlich is a project manager for New York-based Beechcrest Management Co. Ltd.
The building will contain 36 studio apartments, 34 one-bedroom units and four two-bedroom apartments, the application said. It will also have 900 square feet of commercial space.
The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday approved the project by a 5-3 vote.
The property, which 2068 Main LLC bought for $645,000 in 2021, was appraised at $99,170 and assessed at $69,420 in 2024, according to property records.
