Cheshire restaurant chain Jake’s Wayback Burgers said it has awarded $3,330 to the winner of its national burger-eating contest — a California woman who consumed a daunting ‘Triple Triple’ in under 39 seconds.
Molly Schuyler, who according to CNN and other media reports is an accomplished competitive eater, ate the burger on Sept. 18 at an Oregon Jake’s, one of 85 franchise locations across the country. (See video below left)
She was the first female to win the contest in the seven years Jake’s has run it.
The Triple Triple contains nine beef patties, nine slices of American cheese, lettuce and tomato. It also contains 1,980 calories and more than 2,000 milligrams of sodium, according to a nutrition chart on Wayback’s website.
