A private equity firm has bought the Westport office building that houses its headquarters for $16.5 million, according to property records.
54 Wilton Purchaser LLC, which is controlled by Wilton Holdings LLC, has purchased the 26,320-square-foot, two-story building at 54 Wilton Road. Wilton Holdings LLC is controlled by private equity firm Gemspring Capital,
which announced this week that it closed a new $1.1 billion fund to invest in middle-market companies.
It isn’t clear how long Gemspring -- which has offices in Los Angeles, Charlotte, North Carolina and Columbus, Ohio -- has occupied the building, which was built in 1960 and appraised at $15.1 million in 2020.
A call to Gemspring, which was founded in 2015, was not immediately returned.
The seller was Wilton Road Property LLC, which is controlled by New York City-based Empire Wilton LLC. It bought the building in April 2020 for $16.7 million, property records indicate.
The building’s other tenants include Coastal Bridge Advisors and the KMS Team at Compass, which said in September that it plans to relocate to 87 Post Road East in the spring.
