A 165.2-acre campground and associated lakeside property in East Hampton recently sold for $9.52 million to a private equity firm.
In a deed logged June 24, an affiliate of Camber Creek – a firm with offices in Maryland, New York, Washington and Palm Beach – acquired the Nelson's Family Campground.
Camber Creek describes itself as a private equity firm focused on “innovative,” real estate-related companies and cash-flowing real estate investments. Nelson's Family Campground, located at 71 Mott Hill Road, accommodates recreational vehicles in a campground with a pool, outbuildings and a variety of amenities.
The seller was an affiliate of Castle Park Investments, a Manhattan firm investing in manufacturing housing and RV parks.
The sale also included a 2.1-acre property at 15 Lake Drive in East Hampton, located on Pocotopaug Lake about a mile away from the campground.
The property also hosts a 1,354-square-foot, single-family house dating to 1850 and a 792-square-foot, single-family house dating to 1900.
