The town of Preston is putting out the call to developers eager to redevelop 390 acres of riverfront acreage into a residential-commercial centerpiece.
The Preston Redevelopment Agency says it will release Wednesday a request for proposal (RFP) for its planned  Preston Riverwalk project.
Engineering firm Fuss & O’Neill and realty broker Jones Lang LaSalle are coordinating solicitations with the town.
The agency has set a public meeting for Preston residents Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial School on Rt. 165 in Preston, followed by a question-and-answer period regarding the RFP.
The former Norwich State Hospital site fronts the Thames River, and is just across the river from Mohegan Sun Casino. It also has views to Long Island Sound.Â
The town purchased the site in 2009 from the state.
