Praxair to supply Chinese solar makers

Danbury industrial gas supplier Praxair Inc. has agreed to provide three Chinese solar fabricators with silane and other gases used to make photovoltaic panels that convert sunlight to electricity.

Its Praxair Electronics division signed the contracts for unspecified terms.

Praxair will supply silane – a gas used to adhere silicon to glass and other surfaces – ammonia and bulk atmospheric gases to ShanXi LuAn Solar Energy in Changzhi, Shanxi Province; Changzhou Trina Solar Energy Co. Ltd in Jiangsu Province; and Realforce Solar, a subsidiary of Realforce Group in Jining, Shandon Province.
