Danbury industrial gas supplier Praxair, Inc. installed a new air separation unit at the Alabama steel process facilities of German materials and technology group ThyssenKrupp.
The move strengthens Praxair position in the Gulf of Mexico region of the United States, said Kevin Foti, vice president for Praxair’s east region.
The unit will generate 400 tons per day of liquefied industrial gases as ThyseenKrupp expands its cardon and stainless steel processes in Mobile, Ala.
“Praxair is providing a cost-effective and energy-efficient plant to support ThyssenKrupp’s investment in new steel capacity in the southeastern United States,” Foti said.
