Danbury industrial-gas supplier Praxair Inc. opened an air separation plant in China to boost production at Meishan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd., Praxair’s second China plant opening in as many days.
Praxair China runs the 1,700-ton-per-day plant in Nanjing, Jiangsu province to supply oxygen, nitrogen and argon to Meishan, a subsidiary of Baosteel Group, one of the world’s top steel makers.
Monday, Praxair threw the switch on its newest air-separation plant in China’s Anhui province to supply oxygen, nitrogen and clean air to the Anhui Wuwei project of Anhui HuaYi Chemical Co. Ltd. one of the nation’s biggest producers of chemicals from gasified coal.
