Danbury industrial-gas supplier Praxair Inc. has started its first air-separation plant in the Middle East kingdom of Bahrain, authorities say.
Under its long-term contract for an unspecified sum, Praxair said it will supply oxygen, nitrogen and argon to United Steel Co. (SULB) B.S.C. to support the steelmaker’s ongoing expansion.
The plant in the Al-Hidd industrial area has the capacity to produce 350 tons of oxygen daily, making it the largest air separator in Bahrain, Praxair said.
