Danbury industrial gas producer Praxair Inc. announced a price increase, effective March 15, for all its bulk- and packaged-gas customers.
Helium will increase 20 percent; nitrogen, oxygen, argon, hydrogen and carbon dioxide will increase 15 percent; facility fees, bulk product charges and cylinder rental rate will increase 15 percent; and equipment and consumables will increase 6 percent. All adjustments depend on contract provisions.
Praxair said the price increase will cover extra product costs, supply and demand imbalances, and improve infrastructure.
Praxair’s worldwide sales were $10 billion in 2010.
