Danbury industrial gas supplier Praxair Inc. is planning a $46.4 million expansion of its Memphis, Tenn., facility, which would create 25 new jobs, The Memphis Business Journal reports.
The company is seeking an 11-year payment package in lieu of taxes (PILOT) from the Memphis-Shelby County Industrial Development Board, the paper reports on its Web site.
Separately, Praxair announced Wednesday its German subsidiary has started up a new air separation unit at its complex in Hurth, Germany, in the vicinity of the country’s petrochemical hub in Cologne.
With a capacity of 1,800 tons per day, the new facility more than doubles Praxair Deutschland’s total capacity at the site.
