The Brazilian subsidiary of Danbury industrial gas supplier Praxair, Inc. has opened a new air separation plant to supply the country’s fast-growing Midwest region.
Praxair subsidiary White Martins will supply the world’s largest single-line pulp mill, Eldorado Celulose e Papel, from the new plant under a long-term contract.
This will be Praxair’s fifth plant in that region, providing 220 tons per day of oxygen, nitrogen, and argon. Oxygen is a critical component of the Eldorado manufacturing process, used in pulp bleaching.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
