Praxair China signs gas supply contract

Danbury industrial gas maker Praxair Inc. said its Chinese subsidiary signed a deal to supply oxygen and high-purity nitrogen for China’s first oxy-fuel float glass furnace.

Praxair China will construct an air separation plant for China Aviation Special Glass (CAS) at its glass production site in Hainan province, South China, Praxair said. Neither contract terms nor construction costs were disclosed.

It will be the second Praxair facility in Hainan province. A nitrogen plant was built at Haikou in 2005.

CAS is a leading manufacturer of specialty glass products such as energy-saving glass, solar energy glass and curtain walls in China.
