Danbury industrial gas distributor Praxair, Inc. announced Thursday it acquired an Indiana carbon dioxide plant to better serve the Midwest market.
The Tri-State Carbonic’s plant in Lawrenceburg, Ind. strengthens the reliability of the Praxair carbon dioxide distribution system in the Cincinnati and Louisville areas, said Kevin Foti, vice president of carbon dioxide for Praxair.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The plant produces carbon dioxide for beverages, along fire prevention and welding.
