Danbury industrial gas supplier Praxair, Inc. announced on Wednesday third quarter net income of $430 million, a slight increase from the $429 million in net income from the third quarter 2011.
The company’s earnings per share were $1.44 in the third quarter vs. $1.42 in the third quarter 2011.
Praxair’s sales were $2.8 billion in the third quarter, a decrease of 4 percent for the third quarter 2011. The company actually grew its sales by 3 percent but changes in the value of foreign currency caused the slight dip in collected revenues.
The sales growth in the third quarter came largely from higher prices in North America and new plants in Asia.
