Pratt’s deal-machine busy at Paris Air Show

East Hartford jet engine maker Pratt & Whitney Co. says Japanese air carrier All Nippon Airways bought 10 of its PW4074D engines worth $230 milion to power five new Boeing 777 aircraft.

Pratt, attending the Paris Air Show, did not disclose when the engines or aircraft are to be delivered.

Meantime, among other deals announced Monday from the show, Pratt says an Asian aviation-leasing company has bought 10 of its PurePower geared turbo fan engines to power five of its Mitsubishi Regional Jet aircraft on order.

Pratt didn’t disclose what ANI Group Holdings Ltd.  in Hong Kong will pay for its next-generation of quiet, fuel-efficient engines.

Pratt’s EcoPower engine washes scrub power-robbing carbon deposits to enable the engines to operate more efficiently and with lower emissions, authorities said.

Virgin’s 747 fleet will continue to be serviced at London’s Gatwick Airport.
