East Hartford jet-engine builder Pratt & Whitney Co. got a contract to supply the first four engines for a Boeing cargo jet for the Indian Air Force.
Price wasn’t disclosed Monday.
In the second quarter, Pratt will deliver four F117-PW-100 engines that will power the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III for the Indian Air Force. The Globemaster III also is the chief air-cargo workhorse for the U.S. Air Force as well as Air National Guard and Reserve units.
Ultiamtely, India is buying 10 C-17s, the first of which is due for delivery in early 2013.
