East Hartford aircraft engine maker Pratt & Whitney was awarded a $46 million contract to provide engines to the Egyptian air force, The Associated Press reports.
The engines will power the air force’s new fleet of 20 F-16 aircraft. Pratt plans to begin deliveries in 2011.
Pratt & Whitney is a unit of United Technologies Corp. in Hartford.
