Pratt & Whitney’s commercial engine boss Brantner resigns

Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines President David M. Brantner, who was overseeing sales of the aero parts makers geared turbofan engines, has left the company, effective immediately.

Brantner, who took over as commercial engines president in June 2013, is taking a senior position at another company, sources familiar with his plans said.

Pratt has named Gregory H. Gernhardt, 49, as its new commercial engines president. Gernhardt will report to Pratt & Whitney President Paul Adams.

Gernhardt will be responsible for all commercial engines program management, sales and marketing activities and will continue to lead Pratt & Whitney through the transformation of its commercial engine business. He and his team will support airlines and OEM aircraft manufacturers with the company’s renewed portfolio of Pratt & Whitney and IAE engines.
